What’s New — The Haunting of the Sundowner

Sundowner3Walk by the old St. Mary’s Hospital in Garden Bay on a bleak and blustery afternoon and you might catch a glimpse of a ghostly figure standing at a top floor window, staring sadly out to sea. Rumours whispered around this idyllic Pender Harbour hamlet claim the apparition is a woman who died at the hospital, which was in operation from 1930 to 1964. And she’s not the only restless spirit supposedly making her presence felt in this historic building on the shores of the aptly named Hospital Bay.
