What’s New — Truvelle’s Gaby Bayona

As a seamstress’s daughter, Gaby Bayona grew up surrounded by threads, fabric, buttons and zippers. It seemed only natural that she would pattern her own career after her mother’s, but a different type of measurement fascinated Bayona: numbers. In school she was a math whiz who won competitions and dreamed of becoming an engineer. But as a teenager, she altered her plans when she developed an appreciation for design. She began sketching and sewing bridal gowns, which she sold via online marketplace Etsy. She quickly gained a worldwide following for her original creations and, in 2013, she opened her own shop – Truvelle – in Vancouver’s Gastown. I asked Bayona to unveil the tech tools that are a perfect fit for her business for my new piece for Rogers Business Forum (click here or on the icon above to read all about her).
